A Story to touch your heart... GEORGIA

Recently I had an e-mail from a lady who’s parents are huge supporters of the Pops Orchestra. She was looking for our help in raising money for her daughters kindergarten and her story really touched my heart. I asked for her permission to share her story with you as it is rather unusual.

This is the story of a little girl from Ashgrove named Georgia. Georgia is four years old and is one of only two people in the world to have a deficiency on her 16th chromosome. Born five weeks premature and weighing a tiny 1.9kg (4lb 6oz) she naturally had health issues. Mum Michelle and dad Luke however discovered that as Georgia got older those milestones we look for as parents did not happen.

After extensive tests Doctors found the missing chromosomal material. Georgia is now developing well and learned to walk just weeks before her 3rd birthday. With therapy she is progressing amazingly and is an intelligent little girl. The cost of Georgia’s care is extensive however, and we are supporting Michelle and Luke by supplying tickets to the Pops to be auctioned in Red Hill Kindergarten’s fair to be held on Saturday July 26th.
In Michelle’s email she wrote the following..
“Not long after Georgia's chromosomal deletion was diagnosed, someone said to me that I was very lucky to be the parent of a special needs child. At the time, I thought they were insane. But over the years I've learned that I am indeed truly Blessed and I thank God each and every day for the gift of our precious Georgia as well as her 16 month old little action-man brother Ethan.”

Please support the Red Hill Fair on July 26th at Woolcock Park - for further information Call Red Hill Kindergarten on 3369 7456 or Michelle directly on 0414 385 944 or businfoau@yahoo.com.au
